The Board of Directors is dedicated to
upholding the Mission of Camp Christian:
Camp Christian is committed to providing a place and an opportunity where young people and adults alike can be still and know who God is. We are dedicated to the exultation of Jesus Christ through excellent programs of worship, education, recreation and social activities.
In doing so the Board is reestablishing numerous standing committees to make our camp the best it can be. Please note that these committees are dynamic in their actions, and will adapt as needed to accomplish the overall needs and goals of camp. The committees will be led by board members, supported by volunteers from member churches, and will work closely with our camp manager to ensure that our camp is wrapped in excellence. We would ask that you, as members of this blessed organization, contribute your time and talents to ensure that our camp continue to grow and flourish in our mission to exalt Jesus Christ. Please review the current descriptions of each committee and choose one that you believe you could be of assistance. Christian

Curriculum & Calendar
“The Curriculum and Calendar Committee is committed to ensure that the curriculum and programs that are offered at Camp Christian are Bible based and exalts Jesus Christ as our Risen Lord and Savior.”

Strategic Planning
The Strategic Planning Committee, in conjunction with the Camp Manager, exists to explore and identify the strategic direction and initiatives for the camp primarily in three to five year increments. Those who have a passion for the camp’s mission, and strategic ideals for the future of the camp’s ministry would make great voluntaries. It’s a perfect opportunity for visionaries.

Finance
This committee looks at the financial health of the camp. Debt management is one function. This includes financial timelines (debt reduction and depreciation); forecast major needs (structures and facilities); discuss mid and long term strategies. Fundraising initiatives will also be explored, recommended and implemented. A calendar of these initiatives will be maintained. Those with a talent of envisioning current and future financial aspects of non-profits, and those who would like to help with fundraising are encouraged to contact camp.

Personnel
The Personnel committee will ensure that proper personnel practices are adhered to including, safety, role descriptions, proper compensation and training. Also, this committee will make sure we have a complete file on each employee. The Personnel Committee will work with the Camp Manger in securing and maintaining personnel file drawer located at camp.

Publicity & Communications
This committee is currently twofold. First, it provides a critical link between the Camp Board and its members. We believe communication is important in keeping Camp members informed as to what is going on and what the needs are at Camp Christian. The other function is to assist the Camp Manager in preparing and disseminating promotional materials to members and potential users of our Camp. Volunteers are needed to (1) help prepare mass mailings; and (2) be sure that information shared with member churches is communicated to each congregation.

Building & Grounds
This committee functions to maintain and improve the physical items of our camp. There are many aspects to this committee. (1)There are the structures (Chapel, dorms, Mill House, pavilion etc.) These need to be properly maintained. This includes short and long term needs/plans. (2) Vehicles and equipment must be maintained (scheduled); repaired (as needed); replaced (when necessary). (3) Routine maintenance and repairs also include the grounds (landscape, pool, ropes course etc.) A list of vendors and skilled labor providers (volunteer and for-hire) will be compiled and maintained, as well as those wish to be available for routine tasks. Anyone who has a passion for the ‘physical side’ of camp can certainly find a place to volunteer!

Marketing & Sales
This committee is focused on establishing a proactive sales culture and consistent marketing program. We will establish the sales process and tools used to identify and communicate the camp’s value to those that are not aware of what the camp has to offer and monitor the forward movement and results. Common tasks will include strategy, calendar development, and quarterly goals for sales activities. We will also explore demographics, leads, and projections to aid the camp manager in fulfillment of sales activities. A passion for outbound sales activity and strategic marketing is a plus in joining this committee.
